Support Rota:  JF relies on the support of parents/guardians to ensure the safety of the children at all times.  Accordingly, all parents are required to do a number of duties, both ashore and afloat.  Preferences for dates and roles will be accommodated as far as is possible, but the principal factor in allocation of duties will be optimise our safety cover at all times.

If there are any parents/guardians of JF2017 competitors who would like to gain more experience in a safety role, take a Power Boat 2 course, please look at the training courses on the website via this link and/or speak to George in the club office on 01242 512400

Duty Paid List: Sometimes families struggle to fulfil all their allocated duties.  The JF committee will publish a list of school leavers who will  be eligible to do duties for a suggested payment of £60 per day.  Those eligible to be on the list will be full club members, a school leaver (aged 17yrs or older), having left school at the end of the summer term 2017, and holds a Power Boat 2 Certificate.  If you fulfil these criteria and are competent in safety boat cover, please contact the office.

In the meantime, Happy Sailing, and gets lots of race practice in!

WHAT IS JUNIOR FORTNIGHT?

Junior Fortnight is a two week racing and social event that is a MUST if you are 8 to 18 years old. Great, competitive racing coupled with a hectic social programme make this the teenage (and younger!) sailing and social event of the year!

All competitors must be members (not temporary) of ISC, a Federated Chichester Harbour Club, an RYA affiliated club, or crewing for a member of such a club. Classes which may take part are Mirror, Topper and International 420.

The social events are an integral part of Junior Fortnight. A full programme is planned and details will be advised to all competitors on registration or before.

To take part, every competitor must supply adults to do enough duties. We must fill over 570 on and off water duties. Adults are requested to do a minimum of two duties (one water based) per competitor-event: e.g. with one competitor doing two events you must do at least four duties (two water based).

The JF committee extend a big thank you in advance for the help, support and enthusiasm of all parents/guardians/supporters, without which the event would not be possible. We appreciate that the event requires significant commitment from supporters as well as competitors.
