Topper Class Description

Your Mirror Class captain is Gary Hogg

If you would like to sail or learn to sail a Topper, find a Topper/equipment or contact Gary Hogg, please contact the Club office.

The Itchenor Topper Class is a thriving fleet in the Club and, with over 50 boats, it is the perfect step for developing sailors.  The Topper Class is a fun and friendly Class that helps sailors acquire key life skills to help them fulfil their true potential including independence, confidence, team work and physical fitness.

The boats themselves are rugged, easy to maintain and can be rigged in minutes.  The boat is safe for beginners and, being so close to the water, makes for exhilarating sailing.

We actively support all standards of Topper Sailing from beginners to club level racing.  In 2017 we will be introducing a series of “start sailing” activities to boost confidence and encourage new participants in the Class.  The Club will be introducing a Topper dingy to their rental fleet – which will be an excellent opportunity to try one out and see if it is for you.

The 2017 sailing programme comprises of completion of the Winter Training Programme, beginner training, and a Topper training week prior to the junior fortnight.  We have weekend club racing and special mini regattas.  This year we are hosting a RYA Zone Squad Training Weekend on the 25th/26th March - click here

Gary regularly sends out information to members of the fleet giving details of forthcoming events. If you would like to join the mailing list, please let the Club office know.
